Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week

George W. Bush signed into law a bill to make purchasing alcohol with false identification a Class B misdemeanor, usually resulting in arrest. The law went into effect on 1 September 1999. In Austin, at least 67 people have been charged with a Class B misdemeanor since then. Jenna Bush, however, is the only person in 2001 to receive a citation for this offense as a Class C misdemeanor.
